$125 Billion Fortune 50 Organization Seeks Senior Accountant

Job Description: · Whole Loan Sales (WLS), Loan Repurchases (LR), and Loan Repurchase Sales (LRS)
a) Work with Secondary Marketing to ensure the proper recording in the GL of WLS/LRS to investors and LR from investors. Record impact of the sale premiums, discounts, and FAS 91 in the GL.
b) Ensure that the Company's database of loans properly reflects the status of relevant loans.
c) Prepare Summary reports based on current month's activity for WLS, LR, and LRS.
d) Assist in maintaining any liabilities resulting from sale or repurchase activity.
? Loan Originations
a) Maintain the subsidiary ledger that details activity (funding, unfunding, sale, securitization, payoff, monthly collections, etc.) at the detailed loan level.
b) Research and clear suspense activity related to loan accounting (due to either system feed issues or wire-transfer research).
c) Assist in accounting for FAS 91 items, including the initial recognition and the eventual removal due to the sale of the related loan.
d) Assist in accounting for estimates, including volume, reserves, etc.
e) Work with other areas of the Company to properly record all appropriate balances for loan activity.
? General Reporting
a) Gain on Sale Report
b) Funding & Sale Activity Rollforward: communicate to Corporate all funding (origination and loan repurchase) and sale/payoff activity for a period.
? General Ledger Reconciliations - responsible for reconciling two cash accounts related to loan accounting and other GL accounts. Work with Corporate to fully understand all core activity, reconciling items and ensure that reconciling times are cleared in a timely fashion.
? Research Accounting literature and draft appropriate position papers that apply to loan accounting.
? Work with the technology and other Company department to ensure efficient accounting processes.
? Assist in other accounting areas as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelors degree in Accounting of Finance
? CPA or minimum 4 years corporate accounting experience
? Excel - high intermediate/low expert level: experience with pivot tables, vlookup/hlookup, logic formulas, and manipulation of large data sets
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
? Ability to independently research problems and develop solutions
? Ability to improve comprehensive policies and procedures within the assigned area
