Job Summary:

 

Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, financial statements, and operational reports.  Determine the costs and profitability of all business activity (i.e. wholegoods, service, and after market parts transactions).  Design, document, and implement controls, systems, and procedures.  Provide support for all IT systems.

 

Essential Functions:

 Review general ledger transactions to assure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures.  Prepare general ledger entries.Maintain accuracy of general ledger.Assist in the development and maintenance of inventory management and valuation systems and procedures.Review inventory transactions to assure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.Plan, develop, install, and maintain control systems for determining cost and profitability of departments and divisions.On-going development and preparation of financial and operational reports to meet the needs of management.Work with department heads and key staff in the development, documentation, and implementation of internal controls, policies, procedures, and reports.Assist in the development and implementation of procedures related to the maintenance and the security of IT systems.Research, propose, and implement changes/upgrades to IT systems.Assist in the preparation of the budgets and forecasts.Maintain accurate fixed asset records.Perform routine monthly close activities and assist in the preparation of financial reports.Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures and reports to provide effective cash management.Preparation of sales, excise, and property tax reports and required payments.

 

Ability to:

 Devise, install, and maintain comprehensive accounting systems, including the application of automated systems, involving a multiplicity of departments and operational locations.Resolve accounting, manual procedures, organizational and electronic data processing problems involved in implementation and maintenance of accounting systems.Analyze cost and operational data and prepare a variety of related reports reflecting the various aspects of company operations.Present ideas effectively and clearly.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.To provide support for existing IT systems and make recommendations for upgrades as required to meet companies needs and to take advantage of technological improvements as available.

 

Minimum acceptable training/experience:

 Completion of a bachelor?s degree program at an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or comparable experience (previous experience working with computerized general ledgers and financial statements).  Excel spreadsheet skills required.
