Accountant/Senior Accountant - Portfolio Accounting Group

We are seeking motivated Senior Accountants to join our team responsible for delivering excellent client service in the area of investment portfolio accounting services for our institutional clients. Our clients, located throughout the world, are invested in International and Domestic separate and fund accounts managed by affiliates of The Capital Group Companies.

Would you enjoy?

Validating fund Net Asset Value accuracy and fluctuation by reviewing market news and completeness of accounting records
Initiating cash transfers, foreign exchanges, and Fed wire transfers
Supporting the securities trading function by completing daily investment portfolio cash projections
Reviewing and resolving daily investment portfolio cash activity
Preparing highly sensitive/complex schedules or reports as requested by clients, tax agencies and external auditors
Closing investment portfolio accounts through validation of accounting records and review of client statements
Participating in the income and expense reconciliation process to ensure transactions and account balances are complete and accurate
Reviewing and resolving investment portfolio share position differences
Preparing annual audited financial statements for fund accounts
Leading or participating in system enhancement, process improvement, and other department projects

**Note: We are hiring for this position in both our Brea and Irvine locations.**

Qualifications
Do you have?
A four-year college degree, preferably in accounting or finance
Previous general accounting experience
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Problem recognition and resolution skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A responsive and cooperative attitude
Ability to work as a team member
Initiative to work independently and contribute to department goals
Strong computer skills, including Excel
