JOB SCOPE: The Staff Accountant reports to the Information & Control Senior Manager and is responsible for daily and monthly reports, closing the general ledger, overseeing the purchase order system and assisting with preparing the annual budget, cost analyses, capital expenditure requests, and other ad hoc requests. This position interacts with various departments such as customer service, information technology, distribution, traffic, division accounting, corporate finance and sales support.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The functions of the Staff Accountant include, but are not limited by the following:

' Generating and reconciling daily and monthly gross and net shipments report
' Closing and reporting monthly general ledger
' Assisting with budgeting, cost analysis and other ad hoc requests
' Submitting and monitoring all capital related requests
' Performing financial and standard operating procedures audits



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


' College degree in Finance or Accounting required
' Minimum 3 years accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment
' PC proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel required, Lawson and AS400 preferred
' Good analytical skills and attention to detail
