Job Summary: The Accounting Clerk provides clerical support necessary to maintain correct product costing.  The purpose of this position is to assist with cost analysis and help recommend cost cutting procedures. The Accounting Clerk should be familiar with clerical practices, office procedures and un automated equipment. The ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy is also essential.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

1. Maintains monthly analysis of phone and utility costs for budget comparison.

2.Reconciles A/P Trade and A/P Received Goods accounts monthly.

3. Checks Purchase Orders for zero costs and tracks purchase order problems.

4. Maintains W-9?s for year-end 1099 preparation.

5. Matches receivers and invoices with received goods not invoiced report, order costing reports and purchase orders.

6. Process payments to vendors, copies and files payments, and handles any inquiries.

7. Reviews sales orders daily for zero pricing and sales tax errors.

8.Process customer credit applications and gives to accounting manager to approve.

9. Processes credit memos as needed.

10. Processes freight bills and UPS bills with supporting documentation for production manager?s approval.

11. Checks incoming vendor statements and resolves differences with vendors.

12. Assists with income statement financial analysis monthly.

13.Assists Accounting Manager with cost accounting projects as needed.

14. Backup support for billing clerk.

15. Other duties as assigned by management

 

Experience / Background:  Minimum of 3 years accounting experience. Educational requirements are a High School diploma and some college level course work preferred. Excellent communication and analysis skills, organized, works fast, accurately with 10 key skills.  Must be proficient in Excel and Word.
