Title:   Assistant Manager - Accounting

Compensation: $42,000 - $52,000 + Bonus

Stable and growing international manufacturing company in the Boaz, AL area is seeking to fill the newly created position of Assistant Manager.  Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will assist in managing all aspects of the Accounting department.  The successful candidate will possess a strong all around understanding of financial reporting with a strategic vision and persona to develop a strong accounting and finance group.

 

Position Summary:

 

?  Produce accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP

?  Have strong analytical, problem solving and technology skills

?  Solid understanding of standard costing

?  Develop, mentor and provide sound leadership to accounting staff

?  Ability to multi-task, have a high level of initiative and be deadline oriented

?  Partner with management team to facilitate a strategic vision to evolve into an outstanding accounting and finance operation

?  Study and standardize procedures to improve workflow

?  Determined catalyst for driving continuous business process improvements, including maximization of our ERP system

?  Maintain an effective internal control structure

?  Enhance quality and breadth of financial and business analyzes

?  High degree of relationship development amongst departments to achieve desired results

?  Capacity for advancement to Accounting Manager with full accounting responsibility

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

 

?  BS in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required

?  4+ years of quality accounting and/or auditing experience; manufacturing background either from public or industry preferred

?  Strong track record and desire for staff development

?  Experience in ensuring a strong and effective internal control structure

?  Experience in multi-state sales and use tax a plus

?  Outstanding communication, teaming and interpersonal skills

?  Effective project management skills

?  High level of responsiveness and follow-up
