Position:

The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Financial Analyst to prepare and review complete financial statements and detailed financial analysis for CSRUMA, Channel Islands and Stockton Center in support of the assigned accountants.

 

Duties:

Under the general direction of the Manager, and the Financial Analyst will: provide analytical management recommendations and follow through with the implementation of those recommendations upon approval by management to the Systemwide accountants for multiple programs; prepare and analyze risk pool financial statements for all eight systemwide, multiple campus insurance programs (Liability, Worker?s Compensation, IDL/NDL/UI, Property, AME, AGPIP-other, AGI-SUR & AO-Comp); provide active support and analysis for annual audits; prepare and analyze financial statement for Channel Islands Site Authority and Financing Authority; prepare and analyze financial statement for Stockton Center; provide management recommendations and analysis for the three stand-alone JPA?s annual audits and follow through with the implementation of those recommendations upon approval by management.

 

 Requirements:

This position requires the equivalent to a bachelor?s degree with a major in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, public administration or related field; CPA a must; thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices with a working knowledge of governmental accounting methods; ability to prepare clear, accurate financial statements and detailed financial analysis; analytical presentation of financial data using statistical and arithmetic models, and uses of computers in accounting functions; ability to apply accounting principles to the analysis of complex accounting problems; ability to utilize problem-solving techniques in finding solutions to complex accounting problems; ability to make sounds decisions and recommendations regarding accounting activities; governmental accounting experience is desirable.
