Hospital Accountant to $60k+ - Medical

Job Description: OUR CLIENT HAS AN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR AN ACCOUNTANT. HOSPITAL ACCOUNTING A MAJOR PLUS.
Minimum Education: B.S. in accounting, statistics or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum Experience: Five (5) years recent hospital experience in a similar level position
Knowledge: Knowledge of hospital financial accounting and current trends in accounting. Knowledge of computer applications in creating and maintaining spreadsheet and data base files.

Working Conditions: General office work handles emergency or crisis situationsRegular pressure due to many rush projects
1. Reconciles monthly bank statements including payroll, general and capitation bank accounts. Controls daily deposits and cash balances.
2. Semi-annually reviews petty cash funds of all hospital departments and maintains the petty cash fund of accounting.
3. Controls and reports unclaimed property and returned checks.
4. Prepares, enters and distributes general ledger journal entries for completion of the monthly financials.
5. Prepares balance sheet account reconciliation. Prepares account or sub-ledger analysis with strong audit documentation support.
6. Prepares and maintains information for interim and annual audits and analyzes various accounts as needed.
