Internal Auditor

This position will interact with executive management of the company and its subsidiaries.  The position is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity to add value and improve the company's operations.  This position helps the company and its subsidiaries by bring a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, financial/operational/information systems control, regulatory compliance, business ethics and business conduct and governance processes.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSRequires BS or BA degree in Finance or Accounting.Requires two to five years in internal auditing and/or public accounting.Mandatory exposure to a government-contracting environment.Requires experience in financial, operational, information systems, and regulatory compliance audits.Requires intermediate level of expertise Windows 2000.Prefer Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).Prefer exposure to an aerospace/aviation industry, with a publicly owned company as well.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS AND DUTIESConducts the preliminary audit survey and drafts the initial audit program.Determines auditing procedures, including sampling and computer techniques.Executes the audit plan by performing financial/operational/information systems, and regulatory compliance audits.Prepares detailed working papers in accordance with department standards.Assures that sufficient work has been performed, evidence gathered in order to reach a conclusion, access risks, and identify control weaknesses.Attends entrance and exit closing conference with the auditee.  Informs management of findings, recommendations, and obtains their responses.Prepares drafts of audit reports.Assist on post audit reviews to determine the status of compliance with audit recommendations made in the initial reports.Travel requirements are estimated at 35%.
