PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Growing local technology facility is seeking a qualified individual for the following position:

Payroll Specialist

Responsible for inputting, verifying and reconciling bi-weekly payroll into automated payroll system (ADP). Responsible for reconciling various payroll deductions to statements from outside agencies and suggesting corrective actions.  Responsible for accurately calculating (using ADP) tax withholding on bonuses and other non-recurring payments. Validates that ETO time entered into the time keeping system is accurately imported into the payroll system. Maintains payroll records, timesheets, and utilizes electronic time keeping and payroll system. Ensures company compliance with federal and state payroll requirements. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Must have good communication skills and problem solving skills. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions to resolve any outstanding payroll inquiries.  Assists Human Resources with some personnel management. Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws is also a must. Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 5 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree is preferred.  At least 5 years of ADP PC Payroll experience required.  Strong knowledge of Report Smith, ADP and designation of ADP ?Super User? is preferred. Extensive knowledge of Office Suite software is required.  US Citizenship required.
