SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (IV)

XYRATEX  is a storage and network technology company foucused on creating essential building blocks for data strorage netwroks and technology. The company has locations in the United States, Europe and South East Asia. Currently the Storage Infrastructure Divison is  seeking a Sr. Level Accoutant for a contract postion of 6 months to work at both of the  Scotts Valley 90%and San Jose facilities 10%. This postion may have a possibilty of conversion to a perminent postion with the company.


 

JOB SPECIFICATION:To assist in managing the reporting and financial performance of the Storage Infrastructure Business on a monthly, Quarterly and Year to Date basis.To ensure compliance with company and divisional reporting deadlinesTo ensure correct implementation and adherence to and compliance with the company policies and proceduresTo ensure integrity of systems and to protect the assets of the Division.

 

A qualified Sr. Accountant is required to help manage accounting functions for the Storage Infrastructure businesses.  This will include the operation of the monthly reporting routines and submission of these reports to the Divisional Management team.

 

Key areas of focus of the role will be to provide support to:

 Operate efficient, timely and accurate management reporting systemsWork with the business managers to identify operational efficiency improvements and cost savingsImplement rigorous financial controls and procedures at all levels of the DivisionControl revenue and capital expendituresSupport the commercial decision making processes within the DivisionPrepare budgets and assist in strategic business plansAnalyse and monitor profitability of the various work areas

 

The requirement is for a Senior Accountant with strong accounting and controls experience, which can also support the wider commercial aspects of the business.

 

The appointee must be able to demonstrate the ability and personal characteristics needed to make a significant impact in a challenging environment.

 

Attention to detail and a willingness to take a ?hands on? approach are critical.

 

SAP experience an advantage

 

It is likely that this person will be a part qualified CPA or equivalent with over five years accounting experience

Assist:Operate the general ledger and complete full balance sheet reconciliations.Manage the preparation of the Monthly Management Accounts including Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Commentary as per pre-determined formatManage the production of the Monthly Business Reporting PackManage the production of the Monthly Variance Analysis Reports Manage the production of Monthly Forecasts and Outlooks according to company formatManage the preparation of the Quarterly Audit Pack and Year End Audit Pack in predetermined formatManage the production of the Annual Budget in Standard Divisional FormatLiaise with the auditors for the Quarterly and Annual AuditsTight control over inventory accounting and costing reconciliations

 

OtherEnsure Capital Expenditure Purchases are justified and processed correctlyBe involved in any ad-hoc projects Ensure the finance function pro-actively supports the businessParticipate and fully support SAP roll out.Support central finance accounting and financial reporting
