Senior Associate, Audit

KPMG LLP provides audit, tax and advisory services to a broad range of clients. We currently seek Audit Senior Associates to join us in our Birmingham office.

KPMG?s Audit practice uses a methodology that transforms the audit process from a traditional compliance-driven function to a risk-based approach by creating a framework for auditors to assess how a client's business risks affect financial statements. This approach offers a more comprehensive view of how a client's unique risk environment affects its financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in the review of client SEC filings
- Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to Managers and Partners
- Identify performance improvement opportunities
- Interact with clients to help ensure that the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient
- Plan and execute the day-to-day activities of audit engagements of various clients, including SEC registrants
- Supervise the audit staff assigned to engagements, including completing their performance reviews
- Work with the audit team to develop hourly budgets and fee analysis





Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
- Eligible for CPA license in the State of Alabama
- Two years of current and/or recent (within three years) financial statement audit experience in public accounting
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures
- Able to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities
- Willing to travel
