Senior Staff Accountant

This position will be the primary assistant to the Controller. Workings with other department personnel (A/P, A/R, Payroll, Benefits, etc.) manage and monitor procedures for the accurate reporting and reconciliation of general ledger and financial statement balances. On a monthly basis, working with the Controller and CFO, assist in the preparation of financial statements and provide appropriate supporting documentation. On an ongoing basis, manage and monitor regulatory filings such as payroll taxes, sales tax, gross receipts tax, Secretary of State filings, etc.

Daily Functions:

? Preparation of the regular reporting package including monthly internal financial reporting package given to the executives and other key management personnel and/or daily settlement wires reviewed by key management personnel.

? Conduct a review of completed package and investigate unusual variances/balances prior to providing package to manager for review.

? Maintain a specific aspect of the accounting system to ensure that it accurately reflects the financial status of the business unit.

? Create and review journal entries and/or wires and supporting documentation to ensure accurate reporting.

? Update and review daily and/or monthly account reconciliation.

? Determine, and update as necessary, proper cost center requirements and rollup structures.

? Research and recommend system improvements to increase department efficiency and accuracy.

? Maintain daily account reconciliation in Timberline cash management system.

? Assist internal and/or external audit process as required.

? Meet accounting close deadlines as assigned.

? Maintain and Reconcile Fixed Asset Log, GL accounts, AP, AR, PR, month-end, work-paper note book, audit schedules and depreciation schedules (Excel files).

? Provide support to business unit finance group and/or internal and external investors or groups as required.

? Coordinate, develop, issue, review and update business unit financial accounting and operating policies.

? Ensure that the internal financial reporting requirements of the company are met.

? Advise and consult on financial and/or accounting issues involving business activities

? May provide guidance, leadership, and assistance to less experienced staff.

? Perform banking duties (deposits, reconciliations), on-line.

Minimum Qualifications:

? Proficient in all areas of the accounting process; Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Job Cost.

? Ability to gather and integrate information to create and maintain the necessary Job Cost records.

? Proficient knowledge of basic accounting structure, journal entries and account analysis.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact well with other departments.

? Thorough knowledge of personal computers software, printers.

? Experience with Timberline accounting software a plus.

? Must be able to perform data entry and process reports. Must be organized and detail oriented.

? College graduate strongly preferred.

? Prior experience; with a minimum of 3 years experience or equivalent training and experience preferred but not required.
