Sr. Cost Accountant - Manufacturing/BioMedical - Direct-Hire Opening

Parker & Lynch is seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant for our client?s opening in Garden Grove, CA. Our client is a worldwide leader in developing innovative products and technologies for life science research. They support advances in science by inventing, manufacturing, and marketing products that simplify, accelerate and improve research. Since 1984, their products have been used throughout the academic, industrial, and government research sectors in fields spanning molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, drug discovery and toxicology.

 



 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a self-directed individual to be responsible for all aspects of the cost accounting and reporting systems for a $20M manufacturing operation. Under minimal supervision, this person will ensure that revenue, Cost of Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory, Inventory Reserves and Accounts Receivable balances are properly recorded, controlled and presented to Sr. Management by conducting the following:

 Preparing and maintaining the product and component cost accounting systemPerforming periodic cost analysis and produce related variance reportsWork closely with plant personnel on utilization of computer cost accounting and operations systems, inventory cycle count activities, and periodic inventory cost analysis.Performing periodic inventory or cost analysis to support new product development or production planning requirementsLeading the revisions of standard costs, lead the preparation of the operations budget, assist in the annual financial audit and supervise the physical inventoryPreparing and maintaining internal corporate cost accounting procedures manuals documenting all significant or complex procedures

 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but on a daily basis does work closely with accounting and operations personnel and management.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

This position requires a Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited 4-Year University and 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge and experience with Cost Accounting is required. CPA or CMA is a huge plus.
