Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis

The Situation

Autobytel, Inc., a leading Internet Automotive marketing services company located in Irvine, Ca, is looking for an experienced Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis to lead the Company?s financial planning, forecasting and budgeting processes. 

 The Position

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, will lead the Company?s financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Responsibilities include presenting, analyzing and interpreting relevant financial data to the CFO, business units and other line managers.  This person will collaborate with Senior Management and their teams to establish key measures for business strategies in line with the Company?s long-term financial model.  This will include the implementation of Product Line Reporting as well as Scorecards. Will ensure that efficient and accurate financial forecasting, planning, budgeting processes and systems are in place.  This will include implementation oversight of Cognos Planner.  Other duties include assisting the CFO with Board updates and with external communications with the financial community as required.  Will also be responsible for business and financial analysis of M&A opportunities, development of pro forma financial analysis to support the acquisition economics, reviewing/understanding of strategic/tactical rationale for the acquisitions and how this influences operations post acquisition.  Will provide active leadership to the FP& A organization, developing and championing change processes, people and systems.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will currently be an executive with a high level of personal and professional integrity, intellectual honesty and unquestionable ethics.  Will have a minimum of twelve years experience in a well disciplined organization where best practices are integral and prevalent in the company?s culture.  Also have outstanding operational and people management skills, including the interpersonal skills and ability to build a high performance team and accurately appraise ability and potential.  Will have the ability to work effectively with other departments and understand the operational and cultural issues relevant to achieving superior results.  Also must have experience leading a Financial Planning & Analysis team and have a thorough understanding of financial accounting and reporting under GAAP and SEC requirements.  This person will have an MBA and/or a CPA.
