Manager of Membership and Administrative Services

 A well-established, international medical association in the Birmingham area is currently recruiting for a seasoned administrative professional to lead the membership and administrative service team. This role, which drives the membership recruitment and retention; membership administration; affiliate administration; and administration of managed societies, requires a broad range of critical and diverse skills including superb project management skills, astute attention to detail, clear and efficient business writing skills, diplomatic and insightful customer service skills and the ability to manage a team of people in a quality-driven, deadline-oriented setting. Ability to work at a fast-pace, with limited direction, on complex situations and offer creative and practical solutions is critical.

 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of database management; knowledge of membership/customer marketing; at least five years of administrative management of at least 5 direct reports. Background in non-profit management roles and knowledge of medical topics a plus.

 

Requisite Skills and Training

 

?  Bachelor?s degree

?  Five or more years experience in management 

?  Ability to work independently with little daily supervision

?  Strong interpersonal skills

?  Computer skills including proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel

?  Experience with database management

?  Ability to work within schedules and meet strict deadlines

 

Responsibilities

 

?  Manage the team responsible for data entry and administration of service programs for members

?  Manage membership recruitment and retention strategies

?  Oversee all activities relative to Special Interest Groups, Professional Groups and Affiliates

?  Supervise, coach and develop team members

?  Occasional travel and weekend work required

?  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
