Information Assurance Analyst

Description: This position will provide Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Testing Support. To include STIG verification on all applicable software residing on the workstations, laptops, or telecom equipment scheduled for Information Assurance (IA) accreditation and Interoperability (IO) certification at the GIG Network Test Facility (GNTF). Prior to starting STIG verification the incumbent is required to coordinate with the vendor and DISA Field Security Office (FSO) personnel to establish the precise STIGs that are required for system under test. Results of STIG tests will be entered into the FSO VMS database and findings tracked until resolved. Government will provide contact information for vendor and FSO personnel. Incumbent will be required to work as part of an integrated contract test team that will include test personnel from other government contractors. Additionally, as part of this STIG testing support, candidate will initiate a draft detailed test plan with test procedures. This detailed test plan will be incorporated in a new IA Test Plan that will replace the existing generic Information Assurance Test Plan (IATP) and it will be made available to vendors seeking guidance on how to prepare for IA accreditation. The core information in this detailed test plan includes applicable information from the existing IATP (provided by government), past IA test reports, STIG testing experience gained from 1 July through 30 September, and JITC Indianhead, MD IA test personnel.

Qualifications:
Required Experience: 4 + years of relevant experience, 3 years with STIG validation and testing. Must have previous experience working with DoD STIG testing and be familiar with DoD Vulnerability Management System and DoD IA and Interoperability certification testing procedures. Must be able to interface with JITC customers in a professional manner, document issues/findings in a report that includes Risk Assessment (High, Medium, or Low), perform Vulnerability Analysis, and Mitigation Strategy. Must be able to intelligently discuss issues/findings with telecom vendors and government personnel. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education or Certification Requirements: BS in relevant field required. IA certification desired.
