Biostatistician ?

We seek an individual who will perform statistical and population dynamics analyses of biological sampling data to assess temporal and spatial trends in species occurrence and abundance and potential ecological impacts associated with industrial facilities.  Individual will develop data summaries, provide ecological interpretations and develop written scientific reports.

 Job Requirements

A Masters Degree in ecological statistics and and/or fisheries mathematics and at least five years of related experience is required. 

Knowledge of state-of-the-art ecological statistical methods and experience with population dynamics modeling to assess population level impacts is required along with a background in fish ecology and behavior including experience collecting and summarizing life history information.  Experience with age and growth models, equivalent adult calculations and biomass estimates is also required. 

 

Knowledge of habitat equivalency and scaling methods for purposes of developing restoration offsets is desirable, as is familiarity with analysis of impingement and entrainment data related to cooling water system impacts.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate scientific writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively in scientific and regulatory forums. 

Must be PC proficient in MS Office Excel, Word; and SAS.
