City Forester

Norfolk, VA is a beautiful, booming waterfront city.  It?s the business, financial, cultural and educational center of Hampton Roads in southeastern VA and home to several large naval installations.  We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate to direct forestry planning and program development.  The City Forester will formulate, organize, implement and direct forestry inventory, forest management, and maintenance operations such as pruning, removal, pest management, natural resource protection, reforestation, nursery operations, and wood waste management. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor?s degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, Horticulture Natural Resource Management or a closely related field and three years experience at a supervisory level.  Valid Driver?s License, ISA Certified Arborist, and Virginia Commercial Pesticide Applicator are required.  Please apply online through monster.  For additional information on this and other positions with the City of Norfolk please visit our website at www.norfolk.gov
