Senior Viticulturist

Company Description:Premier Pacific Vineyards (PPV) invests in, acquires and develops unique estate-crafted vineyards for discriminating wineries and those wanting to be.  We also provide innovative financial solutions for obtaining control of or access to the vineyards we develop. Job Qualifications:Must have Masters degree in Viticulture or Enology or Horticulture with strong case work in Viticulture+ 6 years experience in full-time agriculture production with emphasis on Vineyard Management.  Exp. with pest management recommendations, vine nutrition and irrigation a must.   Job Description:Design and implement irrigation and fertilization programs.  Cost-effective elaboration of fertilizer blends to be used in vineyard fertigation.  Diagnose and solve viticulture problems.  Design and implement pest and disease control programs/protocols following integrated pest management practices and sustainable farming approach.  Use plant, climate and soil moisture monitoring equipment for scheduling irrigation and modeling grapevine phenology.  Collect, organize and report viticulture data to support farming decisions and marketing.  Direct and supervise Viticulture Technicians, Seasonal assistants and Irrigators in Spanish and English as necessary.  Write for industry publications and represent the vineyard to the industry and the public.  Develop and implement internal training for viticulture technicians and the general work force on the topic of vine physiology, diseases, pest identification  and pest control.
