Customer Service Manager

Northwest Airlines is seeking an experienced operations professional to join its management team as a Customer Service Manager. This position will be responsible for managing and establishing productivity for a team of frontline ground operations employees (luggage handlers or ticket and gate agents, etc.) in Detroit, MI.

 

Ground Operations supports approximately 200 airports in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean and is responsible for providing safe and reliable passenger services, luggage handling, mail and freight handling, contract servicing of other airlines, ground equipment maintenance and related operational provisions

 

A variety of opportunities are available within ground operations.  Responsibilities as a Ground Operations Customer Service Manager would include; providing direction to achieve all activities in assigned areas by means of leading and directing the hourly union employees in order to meet and exceed established performance standards.

 

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong skills and experience in quickly assessing current processes and recommending efficiencies. Provide leadership and direction to assigned areas, 5+ years of supervisory experience; proven track record of managing multiple tasks while meeting stringent deadlines; keen analytical skills and close attention to detail; the ability to solve complex problems; action & results oriented; strong interpersonal and team leadership skills; the ability to multi-task; and a Bachelors degree, advanced degree preferred.

 

Experience working and supervising in a union environment is a plus.
