Fraud Investigator, Retail Loss Management
The Retail Loss Management Department is responsible for developing, implementing and providing input on strategies and processes that mitigate fraud losses and exposure on retail banking products.
The Fraud Investigator, Retail Loss Management is responsible for performing research and investigations on retail bank account transactions/activity in order to achieve fraud prevention and loss mitigation goals. Daily responsibilities include review of low to medium complexity cases, taking action on accounts, contacting customers and documenting case related data.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Review and investigate retail bank account transaction activity including, new account applications, payment transactions and deposits for potential fraudulent activity.
- Contact customers and potential fraud victims to complete investigations and verify activity performed.
- Analyze out of pattern and/or suspect activity and determine appropriate course of action to minimize risk exposure. Actions may include placing holds, freezing account activity and scheduling accounts for closure.
- Document case data accurately and thoroughly in case management system and other required tracking tools.
- Prepare additional reports, referrals and customer correspondence as needed to complete casework assigned.
- Actively participate in process review sessions and staff meetings by generating ideas, offering solutions to problems faced.
- Develop network and maintain contact with external agencies and organizations for information exchange and investigation purposes.
A successful candidate will have:
- 2-year college degree (Associate or equivalent).
- 3+ years of related experience.
- PC skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- 10 Key skills.
- Typing of 20 wpm and Data Entry skills.
- Analytical, decision making, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
