Treasury Manager

We are currently seeking a TREASURY MANAGER, a professional with banking or investment experience to assist the BCBSAZ Treasury team and to directly work with and oversee our outside investment managers. 

 

This position will be responsible for monitoring implementation of Board approved investment portfolio strategy.  This will include review of daily, weekly and monthly reporting on investment portfolio.  Treasury manager will work closely with external investment consultants and managers.  Internally, Treasury manager will ensure that all financial reporting needs related to investments are addressed timely and accurately.  Treasury manager will oversee daily cash needs, working to develop enhancements to current methods to improve performance.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 Under supervision of Vice President & Treasurer,

 Implement approved investment strategy

 Detail review all weekly and monthly investment portfolio reporting to management for accuracy and efficiency

 Assist Finance in timely and accurate reporting on all investment matters for monthly financial statements

 Develop annual budget for cash and investments

 Coordinate information flow with external investment consultants, asset managers and brokers

 Design and implement effective daily and monthly cash management solutions to meet operational needs

 Coordinate portfolio reporting for tax

 Evaluate and implement, as needed, new banking products and services to improve cash efficiency. 

 Coordinate development and documentation of procedures to meet emerging NAIC internal controls requirements for cash and investment management

 Assist in development of Board level presentations on cash and investment matters

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

College degree.  MBA preferred.  Professional experience in finance, banking or investment management.  Familiarity with requirements to produce complex monthly financial statements.  Knowledge of regulatory environment for insurers helpful, but not required. 

 

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: 

 

Effective interpersonal skills essential.  Treasury manager will be expected to work with all levels of internal corporate staff, as well as high level external partners.

 

Oral and written communications skills must be demonstrated. 

 

Ability to develop and complete projects to meet changing reporting and analytic needs.
