Due to a recent reorganization, Fisher Biosciences is searching for Technical Account Managers (TAM) to fill several growth positions around the country. Primary responsibilities include managing sales and providing related support activities for Fisher Biosciences? Life Science Research companies? products to specified academic, government or industrial accounts comprising the assigned territory.
The Life Science Research group, through HyClone, Pierce, Endogen, Cellomics, Dharmacon and ABgene, is a global provider of a broad range of products used by industrial, academic and research scientists.
Our leading products include cell-culture products, bioprocessing systems, protein-chemistry products, molecular-biology reagents, nucleic acid technologies, plastic consumables, instrumentation and high-content screening analysis tools. We also offer reliable, high-quality RNA oligonucleotides, small interfering RNA (siRNA) and related RNA-interference (RNAi) products.
We serve customers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as colleges and universities, government and industrial customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Achievement of assigned territory sales and profit goals within expense budget plan by proactively calling on existing and potential new customers via field visits and by telephone. Facilitate seminars, conference call, Demos, appointments, and product/technology presentation to group leader, scientists and decision makers. Maintain appropriate records and process sample requests per Company guidelines. Gathers, process, and disseminate competitive intelligence and market feedback. Refer customer complaints/product quality problems to the appropriate functions as defined by SOP?s. Provide weekly/monthly and other ad hoc reporting as required. Work with distribution as necessary to penetrate accounts and storerooms. Participate in trade shows, vendor shows and related activities. Prepare and implement annual Territory Sales Plan and update as needed. Process sample request, evaluation request and other services. Work closely with specialist on lead generation and follow up, penetrate accounts, and increase sales efficiency. Special Projects as requested. Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences or Chemistry. Advanced degree preferred. Advanced degree may waive sales experience and territory knowledge requirement. Minimum 2 years sales experience in life science research industry serving academic, industrial, medical school, hospital, government, biotech and biopharmaceutical accounts. Must have knowledge of key accounts in assigned territory. Must have experience with protein chemistry, molecular biology, immunology, cell biology via prior work experience and education.

Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele Ability to travel up to 20% Action- and detail-oriented and highly organized Excellent communications skills both written and verbal Friendly and positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills Proven sales abilities with effective negotiation and networking skills Requisite PC skills including MS Office; Lotus Notes Email and Parasale contact management software desirable Valid driver?s license, acceptable motor vehicle, car insurance and acceptable driving record required
