Project Manager

 

The Learning Care Group, parent company to Childtime/Tutortime Learning Centers, is one of the nation?s largest child care providers with operations in 27 states, the District of Columbia and internationally as well.


We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee new projects as we continue to grow the business.

 

This position will oversee multiple new projects, nationwide. Each at multiple phases of development from site review/design to occupancy, Including Major Renovations.

? Develop project budgets and conduct the bidding and negotiation process for contractor and subcontractor selections and negotiate construction contracts.

? Source, qualify, recommend and solicit bids for general contractor/subcontractors. Identify and establish a network of contractors and establish the Corporate Construction Process

? Review construction bids. Evaluate bids to determine opportunities for cost/time savings.

? Review/Responsible for cost and schedule controls of projects to ensure projects are on time and on budget.

? Prepare weekly/monthly project status report outlines, schedules, variance to budget, potential cost overruns or additional work. Proactively communicate potential areas that may impact schedule and/or budget.

? Attend construction job-site meetings to review schedule, construction quality and change orders.

? Communicates and implements corporate development policies and procedures

? Ensures quality control standards for construction (e.g., cost, timing and site layouts).

? Research and document permitting requirements for each market and advise Facilities and Real Estate Departments.

? Secure accurate as-built site data and submit to the Corporate Construction Department

? May also assist in existing location remodels and improvements.

? Maintains working relationships as the primary construction resource for other regional staff within their assigned area or projects.

? Cultivates and promotes working relationships with other company departments

? Continually evaluate and maintain current building prototype design process

Qualified applicants should possess:
? Construction Science, Architectural or Civil Engineering degree and
Minimum 8 years direct or related experience preferred
? Excellent communication skills
? The ability to work well under pressure
? Excellent teamwork and relationship management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to generate, update and maintain weekly project status reports.
Well-organized self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Ability to manage others/team as required

Extensive travel required.
