Accounting Clerks - Norfolk DFAS

Tasks: Research, Analyze, and Adjust Out of Balance Transactions(OOBs). Additionally, services shall include clearing all un-reconciled expeditures and collections on DCAS or on it's download systems by the end of September 2006. Retrieve NC2036 from STARS ACCESS Program and the Cumulative Reconsiliation of Expediture/Collection Analysis Report for identification of any out-of-balance account by line of accounting.  Determine OOBs by analyzing difference between DCAS and STARS-FL as shown on the "Analysis of Differences" on the NC2036 report and on-line STARS-FL.  Reconcile differences by working the detailed analysis of difference found on the NC2036 and the STARS-FL in the UDL unmatched transaction screen. Analyze and research the reports to identify trends and discrepansy patterns for further analysis.  Prepare and post transactions to reconsile cash.  Log and file appropriate backup documentation.  Input accounting adjustments. Follow up the next month to ensure adjustments have been cleared. Pay invoices within a timely manner.

Contractors will be controlled, directed and supervised at all times by management personnel.  Contractor employees will perform their duties independent of and without the supervision of and Government official or other Defense Contractor and abide by federal guidelines


Skills required: 2 years of experience in accounting, experience and education that demonstrates strong analytical skills and the ability to perform complex research, computer skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
