Database Administrator

Public Communications Services provides integrated telecommunications systems to correctional facilities around the country.  Our customers look to PCS's expertise to solve their inmate telecommunications needs through highly integrated systems that allows facilities to be In Command and In Control of inmate communications.

*Key player in application development projects to evolve our database architecture and design with the expectation of capturing the data needs of the systems and implementing approved projects.

*Monitor database operations, analyze and respond to performance and other maintenance issues so that data assets are available and performance is within pre-determined service levels.

*Function in a technical hands-on & project administration role, including documenting forms, reports, notices, etc. so that database maintenance and development processes are repeatable and consistent.

*Participate in the creation of development, staging and production database instances, and the migration of those instances from one environment to another so that there is a sufficient environment to meet both production and development / QA needs.

BA/BS in Computer Science or MIS or equivalent work experience.  5+ years of database administration experience in a production environment.  Expert in MySQL Server administration.  Expert abilities in migrating and writing stored procedures.  Demonstrated skills in Linux Systems Administration and SQL atchitecture design and improvement.
