Information Security Analyst
SUMMARY Identify, evaluate, schedule, administer, and perform technical Information Security analyses functions to ensure all applicable requirements are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Represent Information Security to other departments and other entities both inside and outside of company on Information Security matters.
Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to management, system managers, and system users relative to Information Security matters.
Assist in identifying all Information Security requirements necessary for the protection of all information processed, stored, and transmitted by information systems as required by Regulatory bodies governing the business of this company.
Assist in the development and implementation of plans, policies, and procedures necessary to ensure Information Security as required by Regulatory bodies governing the business of this company.
Maintain, modify, and enhance Information Security related systems, tests, evaluations, and risk assessments.
Generate informative reports for presentation to management.
Configure, install, and maintain local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, and Internet service providers.
Research and evaluate new technologies as related to Information Security.
Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories, and security.
Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must have strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office, E-mail and Internet.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong organization and communication skills. Creativity and ingenuity to create more efficient applications. Requires a high level of technical skill and the ability to work where there are frequent time constraints and can be stressful at times. Ability to work non-standard hours and travel if required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Additional experience with Microsoft Networking Essentials, Microsoft NT Administration and Support and experience in the Securities or Financial industry desired.
