Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley.  We currently have 6 schools: 3 in the NE Los Angeles area and 3 in the San Fernando Valley. We will be opening our 7th school in the fall of 2006.

We are seeking a PC Maintenance Technician to perform the duties listed below, be a team player and flexible with our changing needs as our organization grows. As a skilled specialist, the ideal candidate will complete tasks in a creative and effective way. Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understand implications of work and make recommendations for solutions. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

 

Duties:Perform the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of personal computer, laptops and related systems. Troubleshooting software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they relate to personal (desktop or laptop) computers. Image/Clone systems for end users and new equipment using Symantec Ghost. Responsible for distributing workstations, monitors and participating in PC roll outs Assist computer users with hardware and software questions. Field phone calls and email questions from computer users seeking guidance. Applies understanding of computer software and hardware to resolve problems of users. Assists IS Manager in writing software and hardware evaluation and recommendation for management review. Must be willing to travel.

 

Position Requirements:Experience with installation and troubleshooting ink jet and laser printers. Strong PC installation, troubleshooting, and software skills (Windows XP and MS Office) Strong customer service orientation. PowerSchool experience a plus. AA/AS degree with course work in IT/IS a plus.
