PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Management, administration and support of information technology for the regional and district offices. This position will help establish short and long-term information systems goals that align with overall regional and corporate strategies. Overall IT and telecommunications support for the regional and district offices including planning, maintenance, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, implementation and training. Maintain/support PCs, telephone, systems security and communication systems inlcuding hardware and software for the regional and district offices. Evaluates purchases and installs PCs and peripherals. Keeps up-to-date on new technologies and is responsible for establishing regional training programs. Serve as the local liaison between Corporate IT and the field.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare IT budget for each fiscal year and manage hardware assets on a depreciation schedule. Project Manager for the building of new district offices and the remodeling/relocation of existing ones regarding installation of furniture, network and telecommunications equipment, site lead for the administration of the company cell phone program. Site lead for deployments of major office hardware and software upgrades. Manage the regional education center regarding videoconferencing and audio/visual equipment. Establish and maintain relationships with outside vendors and various IT department personnel within the corporation. Resolve client technical issues by isolating and determining root cause of technical problem based on client input and remote management technology and determine effective resolution of issues by troubleshooting and analyzing computer system errors of moderate to difficult scope where analysis of situations or data require an in-depth evaluation. Provide remote technical support for hardware (printers, desktop, laptop, drivers monitors, PDAs) and software (internally developed applications, productivity, computer operating systems, internet applications and various drivers). Interact with internal and/or external escalation resources to resolve complex technical issues. Recommend software applications and hardware appropriate to best meet client requirements. Create and update knowledge base to improve service to clients including develop written procedures, tips, reports and support related material. May coordinate communication and troubleshooting to determine impact of major system outages which effect the entire organization. Assist with the testing of new or upgraded PC software and hardware releases as requested. Analyzes vendor products and makes recommendations to purchase hardware and/or software and coordinates installation. Other duties assigned by individual direct reports.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Strong technical problem solving/troubleshooting skills. Ability to think "out-of-the-box" for problem resolutions to better accommodate individual regions. Customer service, communication, problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, team skills and ability to work logically and under pressure are essential. Ability to handle multiple projects, deal with constant change and work with a variety of personality types. Works under very general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Superior communication skills.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements are trade or technical school degree in computer technology networks or related field, 2+ years experience supporting PCs, networks and related computer equipment, ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong communications/organizational skills are essential, knowledge of desktop setup and management, Netware administration, printers, software and hardware configuration, setup and troubleshooting (software and hardware troubleshooting experience required), software knowledge includes, but is not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Netscape, Business Objects, Nomad, Acrobat Reader, McAfee Virus Scan, CC Plus and Web Intelligence, experience in supporting a Novell server and solid understanding of telecommunications technology including frame-relay versus T1, phone and voicemail administration and writing issues.
Preferred Requirements are a BS/BA degree in related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), A+ certification and experience supporting multiple remote locations.
