System Administrator

Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners (www.bssp.com) is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator. This is a full time, senior on-site position.

 

The successful candidate will be the primary tech responsible for BSSP?s core infrastructure, working directly with the IT Manager and Director of Engineering & IT. Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

 

- Network infrastructure (wireless, firewalls, gateways, switches, VPN etc)

- All on-site and offsite web and email servers including client hosted data and development servers

- Backup and data redundancy planning and daily implementation and documentation

- Assist in maintaining Windows file servers and Active Directory infrastructure

 -Assist with desktop support when our tech support personnel are unavailable or busy

Required Skills
- Strong networking skills (NAT, IPtables VPN, Firewall solutions, DNS etc)

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees with varying degrees of technical expertise.
- Thorough knowledge of Linux (Specifically Red Hat, CentOS)

- Thorough knowledge of Windows Server OS
- Experience with Linux Email systems (Qmail preferred)  / Spamassassin / vpopmail / IMAP
- Apache 2, Tomcat (5 instances)

- Backup strategy and implementation experience (on-site, approximately 6 servers)
- Knowledge of  administering Windows Server 2000 and 2003
- Bash, NFS, SMB
- Knowledge and experience of Mac OS X

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Symantec Gateway Security appliances and spam firewalls (eg barracuda)
- LDAP
- MySQL
- Oracle Databases
- AIX and/or  WebSphere
- Zope / Plone / Client extranet

- Veritas BackupExec
- Mac OS X Server

- Fiber Channel and SAN systems (specifically Apple's XServe RAID and XSan systems)

- Knowledge of Apple Pro video systems (Final Cut, Compressor, DVD Studio Pro).
- SMS / Blackberry / Handheld integration
