Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Administers and maintains SARSS and SARSS2AC UNIX network, Windows NT network for SAMS Domains, Business Process Server which runs in Oracle database, Windows 2000 network for ULLS-G/S-4/A Systems. Networking of Integrated Logistic Analysis program (ILAP), and configures SPBS-R, ULLS-G/S-4/A systems.Installs, configures, repairs and maintains CPU, Thermal Printers (Intermec, Zebra) repairs and maintains Dot matrix printers, SCSI AMS card readers, maintains PDCDs, Docking stations, UPS, Network Controllers, Hubs and Modems.Performs routine installation and configuration of internal and external peripheral components, UNIX (SUN SOLARIS) troubleshooting, configuring the systems for the network with UNIX, Windows NT, 2000 and DOS.Creates security IP address, open ports for STAMIS systems to work under Windows and UNIX, and other parameters. Creates user accounts in UNIX, Windows NT/2000 machines with necessary permissions for FTP, TELNET, and BLAST. Tests all ULLS, SARSS, SAMS, SPBS-R, ILAP, and SASS-MOD software and hardware before implementing.Installs and configures BASE Radios and Network Controllers to UNIX machines for wireless communications with PDCDs.Monitors systems (ULLS/SARSS/SAMS/SPBS-R/ILAP/SAAS-MOD, General Stores) and network performance for compliance LAW local procedures and regulatory requirements.Serves as the acting Deltex, Cost Point System?s Administrator in the absence of the Deltex, Cost Point System?s Administrator.Performs other related tasks as required.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1.Education: High School graduate and Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent work experience with proven track record on similar systems.
2.Experience: Requires approximately 1to 3 years experience as a Systems Administrator.
3.Specialized Knowledge:
a.Requires a thorough knowledge of networking and hardware maintenance, Windows 2000/NT, UNIX and DOS operating systems.
b.Must have an excellent knowledge of both spoken and written English.
c.Must have a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification, A+ certification, or a reasonable ability to obtain such a certification within the frame allowed by the employer.
d.Must have a high level of understanding in STAMIS Equipment and a general understanding in operating STAMIS software?s and configuring network interfaces.
4.Skills:
a.Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
b.Possess a high-level of organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
c.Requires strong interpersonal skills.
d.Must have a high level of proficiency in use of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and
Access.
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
