Job Description:
Assist customers with consulting and troubleshooting issues by answering and responding to Technical Service phone calls/emails that range from simple presale questions to integration assistance. Duties also include product defect and malfunction testing, technical database management, updating internal technical information resources, updating frequently asked questions (FAQs), act as a liaison between R&D and Sales, and product testing. Occasional Travel for product training and representation at industry tradeshows may also be required. This position will require efficient use of multi-tasking skills to directly contribute to the company?s high standard of customer service. This position will often be the first point of contact with the customer, and have many opportunities to grow the company?s business. As a Technical Support Engineer, he/she will directly work with the Sales, Product, Research & Development team and interface with the customers directly.
Requirements for the Candidate to Succeed in this Position:
-B.S./B.A. or some College with 3 years of customer service & Hardware/Software Engineering experience or an equivalent combination of Education and Experience
-Ability to Multitask and serve multiple customers simultaneously
-Self-Motivated Individual who actively pursues learning in a working environment
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Strong Computer Literacy Skills
-Ability to think and act logically and with common sense regardless of situation
-Ability to relate to the customer?s needs and provide the necessary assistance to make the customer?s projects succeed
-Strong Teamwork abilities to function with all Departments
-Positive Attitude when interfacing with our customer base
Preferable:
-Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
-2-5 years of previous Customer Support Experience
-Ability and Interest to Learn new technologies and systems
-CRM/Database Entry Experience
-Programming Experience with C/C++
-Linux OS User experience
-Software Development Experience in a Linux and/or Windows Visual Studio Environment
-Direct Working Experience in a Sales Environment
-Demonstrated Experience in Building Customer Relationships
-Ability to present to customers, peers, and management
-TCP/IP Networking Practical Experience
-802.11 & Wireless Ethernet Experience
-PLC/PC Based Controls Background
-Winning attitude with the passion to achieve and continually improve
