Job Requirements and Description

 

This is a Team ITSS position with Jacobs Sverdrup.  There is not a requirement for a specific number of years experience; however, a Bachelors Degree in a Technical Discipline or related field is required.  Requires experience developing web based applications using ASP, ASP.Net to include C# or VB.NET, HTML and JavaScript.  A working knowledge Oracle is also required. Knowledge of Web Services, MS SQL Server and XML a plus.

 

Duties:

 

A programmer is responsible for developing software based on a defined set of design and performance requirements. A programmer may be called upon to partner with a Business Analyst and/or with customer function managers in the development of requirements. Programmers must ensure that their developed software meets or exceeds requirements.  Technology:  A programmers main technology emphasis should be to:  Maintain skill set required to do job.  Maintain an awareness of trends within the technology industry.  Should be proficient in current prevailing software development tool such as .NET, XML, JAVA, ColdFusion, etc.  Training: (specific languages required may vary depending on project).  ASP.NET, Visual Basic, C# and XML.  Oracle Training/Certification.  MS SQL Server.  Junior Programmer I (JP1).  Leadership/Direction: Activities will be Work is closely monitored in progress and reviewed upon completion; any deviation from assigned task must be authorized by a supervisor. All safety policies must be strictly adhered to.  Activities:  A JP1 should participate and be proficient in the following duties:  Perform routine assignments following detailed specifications.  Be familiar with state of the art hardware and software.  Knowledge of programming to meet 508 regulations is a plus.  Be able to accept and complete tasks in a timely manner from senior level team members.  Provide input for weekly and/or monthly reports.  Be able to work alone on small projects.  Be able to work on larger projects in a teaming environment.  Requires ability to clearly communicate both verbally and written to co-workers, management, and the customer as needed.  Quickly develops and applies new skills.  Ability to code, test, debug and document applications under supervision of others.  Attend and participate in weekly Internal Project Reviews as needed.  Document programs accordingly.  May assist more senior level programmers on more complex projects.
