The Director of Application Development oversees multiple teams of software engineers responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and support of numerous Go Daddy products. Responsibilities include overseeing development teams and providing the necessary support to managers and their team members to ensure that each application meets the functional and quality requirements of our business.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

~Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multiple application development teams.
~A strong customer focus with a willingness to do whatever it takes for the customer.
~Demonstrated experience managing the support and enhancement of software running in a high volume production environment.
~Must be able to take ownership of multiple applications and accurately report schedules and status.
~Ability to manage and prioritize product requirements.
~Project management experience, including the ability to create accurate project plans.
~Good understanding of software architecture and the ability to work with lead engineers at a technical level to design flexible, scalable, and secure systems.
~Working knowledge of traditional and agile development methodologies and how/when to apply them.
~General knowledge of systems (e.g. various programming languages, databases, system and network architectures, design patterns, etc.).
~Good judgment in proactively identifying issues and recommending solutions to others.
~Creative, entrepreneurial approach to technology possibilities.
~Web development experience is a plus, as is technical proficiency in the .Net + SQL Server and/or Java + MySql stacks.
~Technical degree (BSCS, BSEE or similar) required.
