Job Description

Major Responsibilities
This position will provide application development and support services to internal PD clients and business units including:

Under general supervision, the Senior Programmer/System Integrator will plan, design, develop, test, coordinate, implement, support and enhance enterprise applications/ technical solutions. Incumbent will follow defined quality and process guidelines.
This position will work with PD business units and others within the Corporate Information Services Group (CIS), to research and determine business/ systems requirements, so to address a wide range of complex business issues.
Individual will advise clients on technical issues and develop technical and end-user operating instructions/ procedures.
Additionally, this position will develop design standards and process improvements, as well as coordinate work efforts with other CIS functions, to deliver integrated solutions.

Senior Programmer/System Integrator is expected to contribute in all phases of the application development lifecycle. Essential Tasks:

Work with PD business units to identify and document business/systems requirements and processes, frequently involving several business areas.
Work with PD business units, the Infrastructure Group and other applications development groups, or PD customers, to define system scope and objectives based on user needs.
Analyze business and systems needs in terms of programming requirements.
Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to defined problems and recommends the most appropriate course of action.
Conduct detailed analysis of defined systems specifications and develop associated design documentation with general supervision.
Select, configure, integrate and implement packaged software solutions as deemed appropriate with general supervision.
Develop, test, implement and support custom business applications and automated solutions with general supervision.
Evaluate and modify existing programs to take into account changes in system requirements, business requirements, equipment configurations, or inefficiencies.
Identify and document procedures for the installation and maintenance of specified business applications.
Assist in the planning and timing of functional product releases for internally developed or packaged solutions.
Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems following identified policies and procedures.
Perform project management duties as necessary under general supervision.
Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with external development partners; analyze and review specifications both from internal/ external sources.
Assist in the adoption of global PD standards and methodologies for software development.

Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work /educational experience.
* 4 to 7 years of experience in applications development, integration and support.
* Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle.
* Experience working in technical organizations, chartered with the creation / support of mission critical business application environments.
* Must be able to analyze/translate business needs into effective technical
solutions
* Participate in issues resolution and change control processes
* Extensive knowledge of PeopleTools version 8.20 or higher required
* Experience writing SQL/SQR
* Prepare project plans and use project management tools
* May manage small-medium sized projects
* Design files, input documents, reports, screens and user procedures.
* Develop testing procedures, analyze test results
* Identify and correct program defects.
* Design data conversion procedures.
* Evaluate effectiveness of data handling systems.
* Conduct root cause problem analysis and develop system documentation.
* Candidate should have 3+ years experience with HRMS including Payroll, Time and Labor, Benefits Administration and prominent exposure to PeopleSoft 8.x development.
* Candidate must follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word & Excel and Outlook.
* Ability to work with general office equipment such as a personal computer and keyboard, facsimile machines and photocopier.
* Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Criteria/Conditions(specific background and skills)
* Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ.
* Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator.

* Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
