Senior SQL Database Design Engineer

Position Description:

QCSI is a fast growing software company, developing enterprise software for the health insurance payer market space. Our customers are claims payer organizations in the commercial, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Medicare, and Medicaid markets. QCSI is experiencing tremendous success and rapid growth. We currently are in need of a Senior SQL Database Design Engineer.

The Database Design Engineer is responsible for the overall design, development and deployment of QCSI's data model. Ultimately, the Database Designer is responsible for the overall health and integrity of all QCSI products' schema.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

Education:
? BS/BA or equivalent work experience
? Microsoft certification preferred

Experience required:
? 5+ years designing and implementing database solutions
? Strong background with Microsoft SQL Server
? Strong SQL skills
? Experience with other SQL platforms a plus (Oracle, DB2)
? Designing databases for data-intensive applications
? Working with very large databases (100+ GB)
? Creating SQL Scripts, Views, Stored Procedures and Triggers
? Experience working directly with customers

Qualifications:

Primary Responsibilities:
? Analyze data that needs to be stored and retrieved for product enhancements.
? Represent enhancement needs as entity-relationship diagrams and supplemental data dictionary specifications.
? Participate in conceptual, logical and physical design of product enhancements.
? Work with database programming to implement complex database designs.
? Maintain distributed data models for current, future and prior software releases.
? Analyze existing structures and recommendations for schema improvement.
? Support, when needed, of other DBA's at QCSI.
? Maintain internal SQL Repository of design artifacts.
? Act as the technical contact person on all aspects of the database during development and after deployment of product releases.
? Project management as it relates to the design and implementation of product enhancements.
? Work with Documentation team to create and maintain formal database documentation.
