Brief Description:  

 

M. J. HARRIS, INC., ?America?s Healthcare Builder,? is a licensed General Contractor in more than thirty-five U. S. States providing construction services for the healthcare industry.  M. J. HARRIS, INC. Corporate Headquarters is located in Birmingham, Alabama and we are currently seeking a Chief Estimator that has the ability to guide, direct, supervise, and coordinate the operations of the Estimating Department.  The Chief Estimator will report directly to the Vice President of Estimating. 

 

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

 Assess construction documents for the purpose of establishing the estimated final construction costEnsure all bid forms and proposals are properly preparedProvide technical assistance and training to Department personnelBe totally familiar with all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotationManage and administer department functions including staffing, wage reviews, work assignments, performance evaluations, etc.

 

Requirements:

 Bachelor Degree in Building Construction or related field from an accredited four-year institution Eight (8) to ten (10) years of estimating experience with an equivalent construction operationComplete knowledge of industry terminology and conceptsExceptional communication, time management, and organizational skillsSome travel required
