Attitude Control System Engineer-GOV

Job Description:
Responsible engineer will perform analysis of NPOESS Attitude Control System Design of NPOESS. He/she will model various aspects of the design to include reaction wheels, control loop, jitter control etc. of the ACS system. Participates in ACS peer reviews and design audits. Supports Spacecraft engineering IPT. Provides detailed analysis of design using Matlab to management. Participates in Operations Concepts Scenarios Peer Reviews for the NPOESS satellite system development. Attends and participates in various Working Group and IPT meetings e.g. Spacecraft Design working group, System Test and Verification Working Group, Spacecraft Requirements working group. Supports May support Interface Control Document development for the Spacecraft ACS subsystem. May support assessment of Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) to program Engineering Change Board (as-required for the ACS system), and may attend the weekly ERBs/CCBs as required. Works closely with the in-house design team, and system engineering team in identifying, communicating, and resolving System design issues related to NPOESS ACS design.

Required skills/experience
10-14 years hands-on hardware/software ACS analysis experience directly related to ACS design performance modeling of orbiting spacecraft. Excellent verbal, writing communication skills and modeling skills to include demonstrated program/segment level briefing experience. Hands on Experience in use of MATLAB and other simlulation tools directly related to ACS system design.
