BUSINESS ADVISORY SERVICES SUPPORT - SENIOR ASSOCIATE

POSITION SUMMARY

Organizations need to create and implement internal controls that safeguard business assets and processes, including those that protect your data and information technology (IT) systems. Grant Thornton's Business Advisory Services (BAS) practice addresses these controls and security issues. BAS focuses on reviewing operational, financial, and technology processes to provide management with an independent assessment of business risk, internal control, and the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the process.

The Business Advisory Services (BAS) Support Senior Associate supports the Senior Manager of the National BAS practice in carrying out strategic initiatives for current, new, and developing service lines. This position reports to the Senior Manager and Managing Principal of BAS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Complete projects focused on enhanced communication, standardization, and process / infrastructure improvement for the BAS practice.
-Assist in the development of quality initiatives.
-Assist in developing brand awareness initiatives for new service lines and developing service lines. Work closely with key marketing representatives in these areas.
-Assist in developing strategic learning initiatives, working closely with Strategic Learning.
-Work with Human Resources on developing and implementing various initiatives for BAS professionals.
-Perform ad hoc projects as related to strategic growth objectives and key service offerings.
-Work with BAS regional operations personnel on monitoring and managing financial metrics.
-Participate and contribute in BAS Regional Partner and other meetings, as necessary; take minutes / action items.
-Coordinate with Assurance and Tax on similar initiatives, work on industry focuses within BAS, and interact with Grant Thornton International; tasks will be project-oriented.
-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary.

Job Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or other business-related area.
-5+ years of experience in public accounting, professional services, or related experience.
-Experience in finance and/or marketing preferred.
-Strong analytical and communication skills, and excellent organizational skills essential.
-Strong interpersonal skills required as interaction will be at the leadership level of the firm.
-Creative and highly responsible individual.
-Project-oriented, including strong time management and administrative skills.
-Career-oriented with the firm. This is a leadership building position.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
-High proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
-Ability to work additional hours as needed; some travel may be required.
