Job Description: Manager, Technology-Enterprise Architect

Job Summary
A Manager, Technology drives the translation and construction of a client's complex business problems into innovative technology solutions within a multidisciplinary environment. Key responsibilities include overseeing the development, design, user interface, and technology integration direction, site architecture management, and managing a technology team from definition phase through implementation. A Manager, Technology owns the technical vision of the project; ensuring that the vision is achieved with a high level of quality. A Manager, Technology is expected to contribute to the Sales cycle as well.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, creativity and innovation, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
- In performing the essential functions of this role, the work environment is fast-paced, moderately noisy and team-based.
- Additionally, frequent overnight travel is required.
Key Responsibilities include:
Translates the client's business requirements into systems design. Challenges business design when appropriate. Offers creative alternatives regarding business design.
Resolves complex technical issues. Provides mentoring on best practices and processes. Ensures quality based on experience.
Balances the considerations of what it takes to deploy an application -- processes, procedures, organization, performance, etc. Works with the client on their tracks (planning, integration points, and milestones).
Works with the client's IT organization to establish technology strategy at an application level. Evaluates the current technical infrastructure and provides insights.
Establishes high, mid and micro level plans for the team. Sets technical direction and manages a team of up to 30 people. Anticipates issues & risks and work towards resolving them, readily escalates project and account level issues. Partners with the project manager and client to establish scope management process. Actively manages scope at the project level. Quickly evaluates the LOE, complexity and risk involved in adding a scope item.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required; Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package implementation, and/or interactive design, and Architecture experience; Prior experience in a consulting firm preferred; Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage client accounts and multi-track Sapient teams; Understanding of the project life cycle process to effectively be able to manage a sub-team through the complexities of the business solution; Proven mentoring and coaching abilities to ensure effective growth plans of technology members of Sapient teams; Knowledge of multiple technologies including (but not limited to): J2EE, CGI, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer 2000 tools, C/C++, Perl, TCL, RDBMS, CORBA, COM/DCOM, Flash, and Shockwave
