Education & Training Specialist

 

There is flexibility as to where the Specialist resides - West Coast, preferably Los Angeles area or Phoenix area.  This position requires travel to centers on the west coast.

 

You MUST have a background in Early Childhood Education, experience training adults and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Job Summary:

 

Supports development of quality early childhood programs and KLC curriculum implementation, by providing instructor led training and technical assistance to groups of KLC centers.

 

Essential Functions:

 
Works with District Managers and Center Directors to present training related to developmentally appropriate practice, child health and safety, KLC programs, etc.
Participates in the development of training materials.
Supports the work of Center Directors serving as KLC Peer Trainers.
Conducts center visits to monitor center quality.
Provides feedback to KLC managers concerning quality of KLC programs and curriculum implementation.
Collaborates with other KLC departments including field operations, marketing and others.
Frequent travel.



Experience and Education:

 
BS/BA degree required, Master?s level degree helpful.
3 or more years? experience in early childhood education or other education-related setting.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 
Thorough knowledge of early childhood best practices including developmentally appropriate practice, child guidance, classroom environments and quality measures.
Working knowledge of center management practices.
Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate training and presentation techniques appropriate to adult learners.
Understanding of current trends in early childhood education.
Computer skills, including Microsoft applications required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to represent KLC at regional and national conferences and industry gatherings.
Familiarity with internet.
