Associate Mechanical Engineer

Work with the engineering teams to develop and test various special purpose, low power Doppler (CW and pulsed) radar, acoustic, and laser systems. Will provide input for solutions to heat/vibration/shock and other mechanical, acoustic or electronic induced environmental problems. Will do packaging design, work closely with project leads to coordinate prototyping activities, and be responsible for testing the various assembly, module and system to insure that all mechanical constraints are met. The individual must have a good working knowledge of heat transfer and vibration and shock technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include the following:

1.Analyze mechanical requirements of a system, module or assembly

2.Provide analyzes to pin point potential heat/vibration/shock problems

3.Integrate technologies into the mechanical packaging to overcome potential problems

4.Participate in test planning and generation procedures

5.Develop test procedures, including environmental and first article

6.Work closely with engineering design teams

7.Participate in design activities

8.Do detailed design work

9.Work with lead engineers to obtain parts and have prototypes built

10.Coordinate test results briefings for the technical team

 

The individual must have a bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering or be in the last year of the bachelors program with 2 plus years of hands on experience or have ten years experience with emphasis on thermal dynamics. Must have experience in using CAD software ( SolidWorks prefered)
