Electronics Technician
POSITION TITLE: Electronics Technician I
REPORTS TO: Engineering Supervisor / Test Technician Manager
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Test, calibrates, and troubleshoots electronic circuit boards. Test, verify and inspects power supply assemblies. Provides customer service by telephone, as required.
PRE-REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate, or equivalent. Formal electronic education by an accredited educational facility, or military schooling. Two years electronics theory and laboratory training, or equivalent. Knowledge of basic and advanced algebra. Basic knowledge of trigonometry. Hands-on training in basic soldering and de-soldering skills. Knowledge of component color-codes. Previous experience troubleshooting electronic circuits to the component level would be a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Task: Performs routine checkout procedures for single phase and three phase thyristor (SCR) firing boards, SCR assemblies and associated circuits at voltages up to 1000 Vac.

Training Requirements: 1) Initial and Annual Training on SOP-TE-01, Test Procedure - Circuit Boards, SOP-TE-02, Test Procedure - SCR Assemblies.
2. Task: Performs on-the-spot troubleshooting of circuit boards which do not pass the checkout procedure.

Training Requirements: 1) Initial and Annual Training on SOP-TE-01, Test Procedure - Circuit Boards, SOP-TE-02, Test Procedure - SCR Assemblies.
3. Task: Performs troubleshooting of customer owned circuit boards and assemblies returned for repair.

Mental Demand: Set up and use Electrical Test Equipment, Identify Electrical Components, Read/Write English, Understand Electrical Schematics
Training Requirements: 1) Initial and Annual Training on SOP-TE-01, Test Procedure - Circuit Boards, SOP-TE-02, Test Procedure - SCR Assemblies.
4. Task: Under the guidance of the supervisor, develops checkout procedures for new circuit board products and assemblies.

5. Task: Provide occasional customer assistance by telephone and fax.
