Engineering Technician - Semiconductor

BI Technologies, celebrating over 50 years as a leading electronic component manufacturer has an immediate need for an Engineering Technician. In this position you will be responsible for supporting production and engineering departments by servicing and repairing electro/mechanical devices for semi-conductor (wafer) fabrication equipment.

 

Our technicians are an integral part of our organization. They play a critical role in performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment for our Thin Film product lines to ensure successful manufacturing

 

Job Summary: 

Must possess knowledge of thin film deposition process.  . Must have strong sense of urgency; be assertive and able to identify problems and present solutions.  BI has a team approach to problem solving, however candidate must be able to work independently

 

Job Description:

Provide maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Vacuum equipment in Wafer fabrication. Must be familiar with Ion Beam Deposition, Ion Beam Etch Mills and Chemical Vapor Deposition. Knowledge of electronic circuits, vacuum chambers, pumping stacks, PLC?s and able to read schematics. Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot ultra high vacuum systems. 

?  Designs, assembles and debugs electronic devices and circuitry for new equipment.

?  Calibrates and adjusts electrical devices and circuits.

?  Formulates, implements and troubleshoots ladder logic programs as required.

?  Chooses electronic components and devices used for development of new equipment as required.

?  Maintains parts inventory for manufacturing equipment and new projects as required.

?  May be required to perform other related tasks as directed.

Experience:

?  Experience in the semi-conductor (wafer) fabrication process is required.

?  Experience with maintaining high vacuum deposition and sputtering equipment is required.

?  Completion of an AA degree in electronics or equivalent experience of 5+ years.

?  Must be adept at troubleshooting analog and digital circuitry.

?  Ability to analyze electro/mechanical problems on automated equipment and repair as necessary.

?  Experience in computer programming using C, C+, Visual Basic, or Pascal languages is desirable.

?  Experience troubleshooting and maintaining laser equipment is preferred.

?  Experience designing and revising PLC - Programmable Logic Control.

?  Good communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
