Field Application Engineer

Cooper Bussmann, a division of Fortune 500 company Cooper Industries and the world?s leading manufacturer of circuit protection devices has an opportunity for a Field Application Engineer. The field applications engineer position can operate from a home office to support Cooper Bussmann products n the field.

 

Cooper Bussmann is an international profit center of Cooper Industries and is the world's largest manufacturer of fusible safety devices. Cooper Bussmann manufactures passive components under the well-known brand names of Bussmann?, Coiltronics?, PowerStor? and PolySurgTM.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

1) Provide application assistance for all Cooper Electronic Technologies products, including technical support of power electronics passive components (inductors, fuses, CPTC, super capacitors and ESD protection) via telephone, e-mail, and customer visits.

2)  Select/screen inquiries for new custom magnetic designs, based on technical merit, current product offering, sales potential and technology trends.

3)  Participate in and prepare technical training for customers, trading partners and CET personnel.

4)  Track new technologies and identify potential products/applications

5)  Project management - track and report project status

6)  Write application articles trade shows and trade publications.

7)  Act as the technical expert from the factory.

8) Council power management IC design application engineers on use of existing products and on development of new products

9) Maintain Cross Reference Database, software, and technical information on Web & CD.



Requirements:

 

The minimum requirements for this position are a B.S. in Engineering, three years experience in the electrical or electronics industries and two years experience in switching power supply design.  Experience may run concurrently.
