SUMMARY

Represent L3 and work under indirect supervision of the Sr Field Service Representative, provide a variety of medium level comprehensive engineering services to customers in the field, and may be required to travel frequently and for extended time periods.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1. Apply electronic theory and knowledge to perform operational tests, gather data, analyze faults, and perform repair/upgrade in L3 equipment.

2.  Provide technical guidance and training to customer personnel on L3 products.

3. Submit field reports and associated paperwork covering activities in the field. Field reports to include: equipment status, work performed, problems encountered, etc.

4.  Paperwork to include: travel requests, expense reports, FAR forms, QDR forms, etc.

5.  Perform other duties as required.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production workers or test technicians on a field team report to the Field Service Representative. The number of employees on a field team can vary from one or two.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.  AA degree or equivalent, BSEE preferable, 8 years related experience.

2.  Willing to relocate and travel worldwide on short notice.

3.  Skilled in system troubleshooting and repair.

4.  Must possess good written and oral communication skills.

5.  Good decision making ability and time management skills

6.  Must be very attentive to details

7.  Must be a self-motivator and posses the ability to motivate others, and posses good interpersonal skills

8.  Must be able to obtain a DOD ?Secret? clearance and passport.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
