  PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER, OPTO-SEMI

 

SUMMARY

Directs the development of company market requirements for Opto-Semi product line(s), including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricing.  Monitors the development of business plans, managing lifecycles, and product positioning in the marketplace.  Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing plans.  Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs.  Establishes pricing strategies. Interacts with engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).  Leads new product definition and business plans with joint departments.  Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProduces and maintains product line forecastMaintains pricing and profit margin strategiesWorking with Material dept., negotiates blanket agreements and FOBJ pricingImplements product discontinuationsProactively recommends process improvements for tactical marketing processResponsible for correspondence with the field to coordinate communications and obtain results between field sales, factory and all CEL departmentsPresents demand forecast and forecast risks at Demand Sales and Operations Planning meetingAnalyzes product line revenue and margin results and recommends new policies and strategies to align results and budgetsCoordinate product distribution and availability with sales force and manufacturing.Analyzes distribution results versus distribution revenue and margin goals for product lineCommunicates tactical product line strategies to relevant groups as requiredAttends trade shows, sales meetings and customer visits as requiredMaintenance of promotional literature including data sheets for products transferred into CEL product databaseDevelops strong relationship between factory and GroupDetermines strategy based on factory capabilitiesDetermines customer requirements and determines direction based on customer requirementsMaintains detailed product strategyImplements detailed product strategyAnalyzes results of product strategyPerform other duties as assignedRequires management of the Product Marketing SpecialistSetting the revenue, gross margin and expense budget

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Requires management of the Product Manger and Application Engineer.  Manages the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Bachelor?s degree (BA Marketing or BSEE preferred) or equivalent experience.  Five (5) or more years of related technical and management experience in electronic component (including semiconductor).  Require excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills.  Proven track record of strong negotiation, strategizing, and forecasting.
