TECHNICAL SUPPORT MANAGER

 

Job Description:

Orange County, CA-based Electronics Manufacturer, looking for a talented Technical Support Manager. You will become part of a team that strives to deliver quality products and services to the National and International markets. Your leadership will be instrumental in serving our Dealers, Distributors and our internal departments by providing strong hands-on and over-the-phone technical support in an ever-changing market.   

 

Responsibilities Include:

This position includes supervision of the Technical Support department, providing pre-sales application support with major customers and consultants, customization of existing products, product management assistance analyzing customer requests and product failures, system and component testing and trouble-shooting electronic audio-video equipment, field repair or testing and customer-sales training. Manage Technical Support staff Provide pre-sales support for current or new products to major customers, consultants and Sales Department.Create, modify or maintain technical information such as: drawings, application diagrams, manuals, technical database, etc. Provide after-sale technical support on all company products to customers or sales Dept. through phone, fax or email.Test and trouble-shoot all company products over the phone and in-house at system or component levelDefine, modify and test customizable products (electronics and mechanical) and softwareAssistance in new Product definition and testing of prototypesMaintain equipment and test labAnalysis of customer and product complaints and RMACreate and provide training for new and existing products to customers and in-house employeesProvide 24-hour on-call technical support Participate in Trade shows: Setup, program, troubleshoot and test equipment on site; Conduct training and assist visitors on product and capabilities; Equipment breakdown, Create and modify processes related to the Technical Support Department for accuracy and to ensure that quality requirements are met.Provide training to technical support on all job function responsibilities, ISO 9001:2000 requirements, personnel information, safety training, etc.Work with, and accept guidance from senior members of the group. Able to provide direction to junior members of the team. Strong verbal and written communications skills that demonstrate the ability to express complicated technical concepts clearly and concisely Travel required (National and International) ? up to 25%

 

Qualifications: Bachelors in Electronics Engineering requiredStrong knowledge of troubleshooting procedures and good analytical skills Minimum of 5 years in Technical Support position with supervisory responsibility Knowledge of Electronics or Audio-Video industry at system and component level with support and design experience Good understanding and appreciation of system design Knowledge of oscilloscopes, network analyzers, multi-meters Product and project management knowledge Equipment repair experience
