Responsibilities:

 Strategy Development and ImplementationActively oversees all facets of DCPP employee communications Develops DCPP Employee Communications Strategy and Internal Communications Plan that supports the DCPP business plan Leads the implementation of DCPP Communications Strategy including the management of collateral material development (i.e., writing assignments, graphic development)Oversees the roll-out of Corporate- and Utility-based Communication activities at DCPP (e.g., Vision & Values, Engagement, Governance, etc.)Manages all integrated DCPP employee communication channels, including: development of strategic employee communication plans; editorial management of PG&E@Work-Diablo Edition, employee feedback tools, etc.Integrates content for leadership and employee meetings such as All Hands Meetings, Supervisor Alignment Meetings, and State of the Plant Meetings

 

Alignment and Coordination with PG&E Internal and External Communications Group:Closely collaborates other Communication Managers to ensure that messages and content at DCPP are completely aligned with those being developed for all of PG&E

 

Leadership:Provides employee communications best practices counsel (regarding DCPP) to SVP of Generation, DCPP VPs, Internal and External Communications Director in San Francisco and DCPP leadership teamActively engages with the DCPP Leadership Team to ensure that all DCPP communication efforts support the goals of the facility.

 

Change Management (Business and Cultural Transformation):Serves as a change agent in advancing new initiatives and supporting culture change at DCPPEnsures that all DCPP Business and Culture Transformation communications align with the efforts being driven by Corporate and the Utility, but also ensures that implementation and local messaging is tailored for the DCPP employee audience

 

Department Effectiveness:Plays an active role in the Internal Communications Group representing DCPP (includes attending weekly team meetings via conference call, regularly updating the Director of Internal and External Communications on DCPP activities, tapping into Internal Communications support when needed, etc.)Serves as trusted partner with to advise DCPP leadership on emerging issues and to recommend solutionsProvides individual coaching, development and motivation to employees and others on his/her team Manages the budget for DCPP internal communications and ensures all efforts are delivered within budget parameters

 

Essential/Required:

 Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate communications in increasingly responsible roles Minimum five years of supervisory experience BA/BS Emotional intelligence and poise to thrive in an environment that provides ongoing demands for strong tactical implementation, combined with rapidly changing strategic demands and periodic crisesStrong knowledge of business fundamentalsExcellent organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines Superb oral and written communication skillsExperienced in counseling and coaching of executives and managers Demonstrated record of success in synthesizing business issuesDemonstrated ability to use communications as a strategic business resourceDemonstrated ability to manage and develop subordinates, succeed through others and establish a well-functioning, engaged and adaptable teamExperienced in planning and managing budgets for employee communications

 

Marginal/Desired:Advanced degree a plusConsulting experience a plus
